Over the past year, I’ve shared a lot about smart home automation, Home Assistant, and the various ways I’ve optimized my tech setup. But behind the scenes, one of my favorite tools for making my home cleaner, more functional, or just more fun has been 3D printing.
I used to run a separate Etsy shop focused on printed parts and custom designs, but balancing that with a full-time job became too much. So I stepped away… but I’ve missed it.

Starting today, I’m bringing 3D design and printing back, this time as part of AlexTripp.tech.
What You Can Expect
I’ll be sharing:
- Printable designs that solve real-world problems in smart homes, tech setups, or everyday life
- Behind-the-scenes posts on how and why I designed certain parts
- Tips for printing things cleanly, quickly, and with purpose, especially if you’re using them for your own smart home gear
Think of it as maker-focused content that complements the rest of what I share here, grounded in real utility, not just cool shapes for the sake of it.

Want to Print Them Yourself?
As part of this, I’ll be launching a small digital shop where you can download STL files of the parts I use around my home. No physical product sales, just clean, ready-to-print designs for fellow tinkerers.
First few designs should be live soon.
If you’re into smart homes, DIY, or just love seeing ideas turn into physical objects, I think you’ll enjoy what’s coming. More soon.
